2025 Tryon Half-Marathon & Fall for the Foothills 5K

After extensive damage to our former venue, Harmon Field, Outreach selected Tryon International for the 13th annual Run for Outreach fundraising event, the Tryon Half Marathon and Fall for the Foothills 5K.

Brought to you by our longtime partner Ashworth Financial, this exciting new off-road race offered a unique experience at one of the country's premier equestrian venues. Spanning over 1,600 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Tryon International is home to world-class arenas, stables, and riding trails, many of which serve as the backdrop for the course. This one of a kind trail run blended the energy of a working equestrian center with the stillness of nature in late fall and offered a truly immersive off-road experience.

This year's event welcomed 73 total participants across both races:

• Fall for the Foothills 5K: 21 runners
• Tryon Half Marathon: 52 runners

As Outreach evaluates the new venue and plans for future races, the Race Committee reflected on the potential they see at Tryon International:

"The facilities and surrounding property give our race room to grow and offer so many possibilities for route variety. By experimenting with different courses, expanding our race committee and adding a fun run — we know we can make Run for Outreach something even more special."

Celebrating Remarkable Performances
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Fall for the Foothills 5k and Tryon Half Marathon! This year we would like to acknowledge these four individuals for placing first in their respective races for the Male and Female divisions.

Fall for the Foothills 5K

• Fastest Male: Lukas Kennedy (age 10) — 29:53
  Lukas was also the youngest participant at this year’s Run for Outreach
• Fastest Female: Alyssa Marks (age 27) — 33:24

Tryon Half Marathon

• Fastest Male: Michael Koballa (age 38) — 1:23:28
• Fastest Female: Emily Headley (age 28) — 1:45:01
