Being equipped with the proper tools for school is essential to academic success.

Outreach recognizes that in order to break the cycle of poverty and hunger, children must be prepared to learn and succeed in school.  Additionally, statistics show that children tend to learn and retain more information if they perceive themselves to be on a level playing field with other children.  Children that are academically prepared have higher self-confidence, self-worth and pride, which in turn, results in better grades.

Sign up today! Registering for our School Supplies Distribution is easy. We ask parents & guardians to complete a brief registration for each student in the household for planning purposes, which helps us ensure we have enough supplies for children across all individual grade levels.

Registration for this year's School Supplies Distribution Event will run from June 30 - July 31. Registration can be completed online by clicking this link:
Register for Outreach's School Supplies Distribution or in person at Outreach (134 White Drive, Columbus). During registration, parents will select the pick up time that works best for their schedule.

The 2024 School Supplies Distribution Event will stretch across two weeks -
August 5-8 and 12-15 and will be held at Outreach:
  • 3 - 6PM, Mondays & Thursdays (8/5, 8/8, 8/12, 8/15)
  • 9AM - 12PM, Tuesdays & Wednesdays (8/6, 8/7, 8/13, 8/14)

School Supplies Donation Opportunities: The Outreach School Supplies Program serves school-aged children (Pre-K - 12th grade) and helps to guarantee that all Polk County students have the tools they need to start the school year on the right foot.

Each year, Outreach collects and purchases new back packs, pencils, notebooks, pens, paper, binders and other supplies for distribution.  If you are interested in partnering with Outreach and would like to donate, you can make a monetary contribution by clicking the orange "donate now" button
at the top of this webpage. Be sure to select "school supplies program" to designate your donation. If you prefer to shop, you can drop off new school supplies and backpacks at Outreach (134 White Drive, Columbus NC) by Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
