Carol Newton joined the staff of Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry as Chief Operating Officer on December 1, 2010.   She became Executive Director on January 1, 2011.  Ms. Newton, who lives in the Lake Lanier area with her husband Larry Newton, brings to Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry extensive experience with both profit and not-for-profit organizations.  For the past ten years, she was Finance Director for Peter Rock Consulting, Inc., a firm that has offices in Tryon and Charlotte.  Ms. Newton is a graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She enjoys gardening, sports car racing, Scottish festivals and photography.

Anna McClure, Volunteer Coordinator

Anna serves as Outreach’s Volunteer Coordinator and also leads the Outreach Ambassador Program.  Anna joined the organization in March 2012, after spending 10 years with Community Health Connections, an affiliate of St. Luke’s Hospital.  Anna is the wife of Pastor Charles McClure of Mountain Creek Baptist Church, has lived in Polk County throughout her life and has an in-depth knowledge of the county and its residents.  Anna focuses on getting to know individual volunteers and their needs, as well as volunteer recruitment. She believes strongly in volunteering and the sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing that you have reached out to help your neighbor.
