Executive Director's Message
Thank you for visiting us here online. For over 30 years, Outreach has provided crisis assistance to Polk County residents who have difficulty providing life’s basic needs. Our clients are not nameless or faceless individuals. They are often closer than we realize - a neighbor, friend, sibling, child or grandparent - they are us under extremely difficult circumstances. At Outreach, we desire to give back a sense of dignity and self-worth to those we serve through a kind face, compassionate heart, and the words, "yes, we can help." Please join us!
Outreach is passionately committed to helping individuals, children and families in crisis. Today, more than ever, the people we serve are in need of a helping hand and a caring heart. This need sometimes takes the form of paying a utility bill for an out-of-work single mother with several children, or providing firewood for the elderly during the winter months, or preparing food bags from our food pantry that are distributed to nutritionally at-risk school children, or outfitting hundreds of children each year with a back-pack and school supplies because these basic items seem so far out of reach to a family on the edge.
Volunteers, donors, board members, churches, and clients have all come together to create a sustainable organization that is committed to serving our community with compassion and integrity. Please consider joining us as we seek to ensure that no family in Polk County goes hungry or lacks shelter.
